ENDED FEB 28, 2010 Hey PoCo residents, where will you be watching the 2010 Winter Games? Starting with the opening ceremonies on Feb. 12, Port Coquitlam residents can cheer on the action on a big screen at the 2010 PoCo Zone at the Port Coquitlam Recreation Complex at 2150 Wilson Avenue in Port Coquitlam.

As part of the Port Coquitlam’s Spirit Week activities, Olympic events will be playing all day long on a nine-foot screen at the PoCo Zone – the City’s self-proclaimed Live Site – from Feb. 12 to 26. Local individuals and families who want to share in the Olympic spirit with other members of the community are welcome to drop by the PoCo Zone whenever the Rec Complex is open (approximately 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.). Tables and chairs will be set up in the Rec Complex’s spacious lobby, and the concession will be open during peak hours. Admission is free.

Jan. 24-Mar. 21: Sport Re-imagined art exhibit at Leigh Square

Feb. 11:

Torch Run Relay – 7:30-9:30 a.m. at Leigh Square (pancake breakfast $4)
Spirit Week Kick-off – 6-8 p.m. at Leigh Square (community dinner $3)

Feb. 12: Gold Medal Youth Skate (13-18 years) – 10:15 p.m.-12 a.m. at PoCo Rec Complex (rentals extra)

Storytime with Mr. I – 10:30 a.m. at Terry Fox Library
