Olympic medallist and hockey legend Wayne Gretzky lit the flame
On a wet dreary evening, hockey legend Wayne Gretzky emerged from BC Place Stadium and made his way to Vancouver's waterfront. He was clutching the Olympic torch on its final journey to light the cauldron that will burn brightly in Vancouver over the next 17 days. The opening ceremonies lasted a little over three hours and was an extravaganza of light, sound and musical performances. Let the Games begin!

Hello
Just wanted to thankyou for compiling a list of everything Olympics!
Your site is my bible as to what is going on and where to find it. As
a local it is frustrating to not be able to find comprehensive
information on the Olympic houses, pavillions, activites and
entertainment, but now I have. Now my only concern is how to see and
do it all! I will be telling everyone about your site. It is amazing
how may people really don't have a clue about all that is offered
while the Olympics are here.
Thanks again
