behind closed doorsIf you check the City of Vancouver's website you won't find the listing for a meeting that took place earlier today between the Mayor's politically appointed City Manager and members of the powerful Urban Development Institute (UDI). That's because the meeting, which was requested by the City, was billed as a 'private' briefing between Penny Ballem and a number of Directors on the Board of the UDI.

The topic of the private briefing which took place on the third floor of City Hall was the Olympic Village development. Not sure yet whether the actual developer of the Athlete's Village project was invited to this behind closed doors affair.

CityCaucus.com is trying to confirm if any of the respected non-partisan public service staff who actually worked on the Southeast False Creek project over the last 10 years were on hand to provide their perspective.

Stay tuned for more on this developing story.

All city managers are appointed by politicians and thus are "politically appointed".
